If you are interested in a scholarship in the UK or Ireland, here are 6 steps to follow:

STEP 1

FAMILIARISATION & PREPARATION

  1. Anticipate the need for your English level to be at least B2/C1 to study in the UK or Ireland.

  2. Attend events - (recommended): university fairs, visits to colleges by university representatives & webinars.

STEP 2

CHECK ACADEMIC & LINGUISTIC REQUIREMENTS

  1. UK & Irish universities request that students give evidence of their English level (IELTS or

    equivalent).

  2. For undergraduate programmes, students

    need an International Baccalaureate (IB

English), A-Level or US High School Diploma.

  3. For post-graduate programmes, applicants

need a Licenciatura from Panama with an

    81% average grade.

STEP 3

FUNDING

  1. Different ways to fund your studies: scholarships, loans & self-funding.

  2. Some scholarships have specific deadlines: e.g. IFARHU (June-Sept) + Senacyt (Dec-Feb) + Chevening (Aug-Nov).

STEP 4

COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION

  1. Universities use UCAS (UK) or Central
    Application Office (IRE)
    as application portals
where a personal statement and predicted grades
    need to be submitted.

  2. For an International Foundation Year, universities
may ask applicants to apply through their own
    university portals.

STEP 5

APPLY FOR YOUR VISA

  1. Become familiar with the immigration
requirements needed for the UK and
    Ireland.

  2. Allow plenty of time to prepare for your
    application.

STEP 6
